One dead, two injured, and one detained in casino altercation

By BBN Staff:  Sometime around 2 o’clock this morning Placencia police were called to a casino.

There, they learnt of an altercation between brothers, Everaldo and Marlon Samaoya and a security guard, Darwin Castillo.

While the brothers were leaving the casino they were approached by the security guard during which they attacked him and pushed him down.

The altercation did not stop there and instead continued to the back of the establishment where the security guard was chopped to the arm with a machete.

Everaldo Samaoya received a stab wound to the right rib cage and died while receiving treatment at the Southern Regional Hospital.

Marlon Samaoya also received a stab wound to the back and remains hospitalized.

One person has been detained.
