Cruz leaves Belize to go and teach at Global Exchange Elementary School Teacher at Rocky River Elementary School in Cabarrus County, Concord, North Carolina for the upcoming academic year.

Cruz says that he has enjoyed his calling as an educator and attributes his success in the field to the teachers and principals that he has encountered over the years. He added that he is humbled by the opportunity to teach in the US and plans on using the platform to showcase Belize while in the US.

Through the program teachers from the region get the opportunity to teach in primary schools as well as Math and Science at the high school level in three states, Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. All positions are full-time and salaried, with competitive health benefits and professional development
