By BBN Staff: Sometime last night there was an armed robbery in Belmopan.
Two volleyball players were on their way home from the Belmopan Comprehensive High School when they were accosted by an armed assailant.
With a gun pointed at them, they were relieved of all their personal belongings.
Fortunately, no shots were fired.
Jesus Castillo Jr. has since posted to Facebook, “Last night’s incident was not the first against a member of this group of young people, however, we would like to hope that it will be the last.”
“I challenge the Belmopan Police Department, the Mayor of Belmopan and the Area Representative of Belmopan to seek ways as to how best address this issue before someone is physically assaulted or killed,” he added.
