Notice of Intended Prosecution served on driver who knocked down and killed cyclist

By BBN Staff: Police have served a man with a notice of intended prosecution following the death of Jerdy Bainton, 44, by road traffic accident on Wednesday.

Bainton was was on his motorcycle attempting to cross at the pedestrian ramp on Chetumal Boulevard when an oncoming driver hit him.

Bainton died on the spot. Police detained the driver and took samples from him for testing. The extent of his charges, if any will be determined following an investigation into the incident.
