Volleyball milestones: silver medalists recalled

By Aaron Humes: Where were you when Belize shocked the world a year ago this week? Or at least Central America?

The senior women’s national volleyball team was darlings of the Jewel in the first week of August 2018, upending Costa Rica and Guatemala en route to a silver medal in the women’s regional championship, hosted by the Belize Volleyball Association (BVA) at the St. Catherine Academy Auditorium.

The Association is once again calling on that national spirit as its summer of volleyball continues next week with the regional beach volleyball championship hosted at Old Belize Cucumber Beach.

One female and two male teams, including the (separated) defending bronze U-21 medalists Francis Hauze and Michael Jenkins, will be competing against the best of Central America.
