By BBN Staff: The Belize Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) is inviting its members to attend a free workshop entitled “Human Rights and HIV Policy in the Workplace.”
The workshop to be held on August 21 and 22, will be held at at the McField Conference Room, 4792 Coney Drive, 2nd Floor WithField Tower in Belize City. The target audience for the August 21 workshop is human resources managers and business owners, while the target audience for the August 22 workshop is supervisors and managers.
The workshop will feature sessions such as testimonials from businesses with HIV workplace policies and from employees that are HIV positive, “Current Picture of HIV” done by the Ministry of Health (MOH), and “The private sector involvement in the National HIV
Response,” done by the National AIDS Commission.
According to the BCCI, the objective of the workshops is to “strengthen the Private Sector response to HIV in Belize by highlighting the important role of the private sector in addressing HIV, learning from the experience of companies that have developed HIV workplace policies, and motivating other companies to develop HIV policies by showing them this can help decrease stigma and discrimination.”
