By BBN Staff: Police say that they are trying to ascertain the identity for the body of a man found off the coast of Dangriga yesterday.
Head of the National Crimes Investigation Branch (NCIB) Assistant Commissioner of Police Joseph Myvett, said that the body of a dark-skinned man was found sometime after 9 a.m. on Monday in the area off the coast of Dangriga, known as Gra Gra Lagoon.
Myvett said that the body was in an advanced state of decomposition when it was found and that efforts to identify the body were still underway at the time he was giving the report.
The discovery has many questioning if the body could be that of Derrick Martinez, the Dangriga man who went missing at sea on Sunday, August 4. Breaking Belize News (BBN) will be following up with the
