By BBN Staff: The Board and Management of Belize Water Services (BWS) and the Executives of the Belize Water Service workers union (BWSWU) have announced the finalization of a new collective bargaining agreement which was successfully renegotiated and made effective November 1, 2018.

BWS’ Management and the BWS Workers Union Executives, recognizing the importance of a motivated workforce and fair work practices, improved on the previous agreement.

Negotiators on both sides worked cooperatively and tirelessly to complete the revision.

This new agreement has been reviewed and endorsed by the Labour Commissioner, Anne Marie Thompson.

The Agreement was officially signed on August 12, 2019, at 11 am in the presence of the Labour Commissioner.

The Board and Management of BWS extend their appreciation to all those involved in the process and offer their congratulations for a job well done.

As a provider of the most essential service to the Belizean populace, BWS and BWSWU continue to build on their mission to deliver improved services to valued customers and consumers.

“Our focus remains on improving the delivery of service, both to our existing customers and to as much of the population of Belize as we can reasonably reach,” a joint release said.

BWS  says that it is especially proud of their hard-working employees who ensure the delivery of high-quality service to customers.
