By Aaron Humes: All of the Premier League leaders dropped points this weekend in tightly contested matchups.
On Saturday, Wagiya of Dangriga lost at home to Altitude F.C., 1-0. Elroy Coe scored the late game-winner.
This afternoon, national champions Belmopan Bandits were held on the road by Belize Defence Force, as the soldiers held down the MCC in a 1-1 draw.
Out west, Verdes could not take advantage, sharing honors with San Pedro Pirates in a 3-3 tie. They actually had to rally from 3-1 down in a see-saw game.
And the Placencia Assassins rallied to keep Valley Pride Freedom Fighters winless, 3-1, at the Michael Ashcroft Stadium.
It means Bandits and Verdes stay top on ten points each, both still undefeated. Altitude leapfrogs Wagiya to third on seven points; the Culture Capital crew stays with six.
In the second division, BDF are also on six points; Placencia now has four; San Pedro, three; and Valley Pride, none.
Next week Saturday, Bandits host Wagiya in Belmopan; on Sunday, Placencia face Verdes at 3:30; B.D.F. host Altitude at 4 as do Valley Pride against San Pedro.
