By BBN Staff: Today was a successful day for team Belize at the Central American Athletic Championship (CODICADER) Under 15 Games, being held in Tegucigalpa, Honduras.
Glenford Williams won a Gold medal in the 100 Meter race, while Kenrick Gordon earned Silver medal in the 100 Meter race. A third athlete, Jadah Morris won a Bronze medal in Shot Put.
Director of the National Sports Council, Ian Jones, congratulated the students on their success today, stressing that their victories are due to adequate training in preparation for the games.
“Preparation, preparation, preparation….and making the difficult decision of participation in the events we know the student-athletes are prepared enough to be competitive in….rather than just sending the kids to “participate for the experience, ” Jones said.
Breaking Belize News congratulates all Belizean athletes for their stellar representation of the country and wishes them every success as the games continue. We will have more coverage on the CODICADER games as they progress.
