11 outstanding Belizean Youth  and 1 mentor to participate in Youth Ambassador Program

By BBN Staff: Eleven outstanding young Belizeans and 1 mentor will participate in the Youth Ambassador program next month.

The students will be participating in a Leadership and Cultural Exchange Program organized by Georgetown University, implemented by World Learning, and funded by the U.S. Department of State.

The Youth Ambassadors Program brings together high school students and adult mentors from countries across the Americas to promote mutual understanding, increase leadership skills, and prepare youths to make a difference in their communities.

Goals of the program include:

To develop a cadre of young adults who have a strong sense of civic responsibility, a commitment to community development, an awareness of current & global issues, and strong interpersonal leadership skills;

To foster relationships among youth from different ethnic, religious, and national groups; and

To promote mutual understanding, respect and collaboration between the United States and our South American counterparts.

The Youth Ambassadors Program is sponsored by the United States (US)  Department of State with funding provided by the U.S. Government and administered by World Learning.
