Belize City Council to build basketball court on George Street

By BBN Staff: The Belize City Council will construct a basketball court on George Street, Belize City.

The court had been promised at the start of the summer but Councilor Micah Goodin indicated that funds have just become available to commence the construction on Monday.

According to Goodin whose portfolio is Youth & Sports, when he visited George Street he noted that this community had no sporting facilities for the young people to positively express themselves.

He said that he approached Mayor Bernard Wagner about the idea and Mayor Wagner immediately agreed that it was important for the court to be built.

According to Goodin, this is yet another example of the Mayor and council keeping their promise of putting people first.
