Nine persons charged for marijuana possession in Ambergris Caye

By Aaron Humes: Eight Belizeans, including a public officer; and one American national, are on bail for possession of marijuana following a bust on Wednesday.

San Pedro Town resident and tour guide 41 year old Victor Lara and his American wife Breea Stanke were jointly charged with separate counts of possession of controlled substances for 89 grams (3.1 ounces, 0.19 pound) and 85 grams (2.998 ounces, 0.187 pound) of suspected cannabis which police found in a communal room at the property in the Bayside area of town.

Also charged in connection with the 89-gram bust were Alex Salazar, Sebastian Young, Marcus Nunez, Joslyn Daniels, Hilberto Hoare, Camille Bodden, and Errol Sebastian. All pleaded not guilty and met bail of $2,000 each.

The group is to return to court on October sixteenth, 2019 in San Pedro.
