Taiwan ICDF and IICA strengthen agricultural cooperation in the Caribbean

By BBN Staff: The Taiwan International Cooperation and Development Fund (Taiwan ICDF) and the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) signed an agreement to foster agricultural development in St. Kitts and Nevis and the entire Caribbean region.

The agreement will foster cooperation in matters related to technology and inter-institutional management. It will also seek to accelerate the improvement of agriculture, agro-processing and rural development in the region.

IICA and Taiwan ICDF will establish a tripartite team comprising representatives of the Taiwanese technical mission, the IICA Delegation in St. Kitts and Nevis, and the country’s Ministry of Agriculture.

The team will be responsible for developing the work plan and project proposals to implement the agreement.

For almost a decade, the two entities have engaged in collaborative work in St. Kitts and Nevis, in areas related to climate-smart technologies as well as soil and water management.
