By BBN Staff: Tropical Storm Dorian, the fourth named storm for the 2019 Atlantic Hurricane Season, is currently moving through the Caribbean and is on its way to Florida.
Dorian formed as a tropical depression on Saturday, August 24, and quickly gained strength. As of this morning, Dorian was located 200 miles east-southeast of Barbados. Tropical storm warnings have been issued to several islands, as Dorian is expected to bring between 2 and 10 inches of rainfall to those that will be affected. Dorian is expected to strengthen into the season’s first hurricane by Wednesday and is expected to hit Florida by Saturday.
The projected path does not put Belize in any imminent danger.
