By Aaron Humes: The U-17 female Jaguars must wait for their celebrations as Barbados is under warning tonight for Tropical Storm, potentially Hurricane Dorian.
The storm is currently measured at 60 miles per hour but is expected to intensify to hurricane status. The storm is expected to hit the island on Tuesday, trapping the teams visiting for the CONCACAF Championship Qualifier.
A nail-biting 4-3 win, all goals scored by the Orange Walk’s Kate Jones, coupled with a slim 1-0 win for Barbados over US Virgin Islands, secured top of the group status for Belize on goal difference.
The Football Federation offered its congratulations today, stating: “We have supported and worked closely with you all to ensure success was achieved. You have made us proud!!!! BELIEVE, BELIEVE, BELIEVE IN THE PROCESS!!!!”
It added that its technical team spent more than three months with the selection.
When the girls do get back to the Jewel, a press conference and luncheon will be held for them, according to FFB staff.
