By BBN Staff: On Friday around 2 p.m., police were called to an area near mile 64 of the Southern Highway.
There, they saw a motorcycle extensively damaged and beside it the body of a man identified as Greg Perez.
Police say that before the accident, Perez and Lawrence Cholom departed Punta Gorda en route to Independence when he lost control of the motorcycle.
Perez died on the spot while Cholom was transferred to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital in a critical condition.
Assistant Commissioner of Police, Joseph Myvette, today revealed that the men were not wearing helmets at the time of the accident.
