Police mobile knocks down cyclist

By BBN Staff: Yesterday a police officer was involved in a road traffic accident.He is Inspector Clifton Jones.

Sometime around 5 p.m. he was driving a police mobile near mile 45 of the George Price Highway.

There he attempted to overtake a cycle driven by Reginald Ruiz.

However, the police mobile collided into the back of the motorcycle and sent Ruiz to the pavement.

He suffered several injuries and was transported to the Western Regional Hospital and thereafter the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Inspector Jones has since been served with a ‘Notice of Intended Prosecution’.
