Huge bush fire on Fabers Road

By BBN Staff: Belize Fire Service personnel were called today to extinguish a large bush fire on Fabers Road.

A member from the fire service told Breaking Belize News (BBN) that the blaze was definitely man-made.

There are no houses in danger at this time, however, the thick smoke may be a health concern for people in the area.

The fire service said that they could have better handled the situation if they had been called earlier, and encouraged all Belizeans to be vigilant when it comes to fires in their area.

Lots of garbage can be seen burning in the area, indicating that it was being used for a dumpsite as well. The fire service also reminds Belizeans that using fires as a means to clear land is a dangerous practice.
