4 police officers injured after confrontation with villagers in Corozal

By BBN Staff: On Thursday, September 5, 2019, about 5 p.m., police were conducting patrols in San Victor, Corozal and when they were near the river, they saw a pickup truck loaded with contraband beers and cola soft drinks.

When authorities intercepted the pickup truck, the officers were attacked by villagers who stoned the officers and the police vehicle.

The misiles caused damages to the front and rear windshield and other parts of the vehicle.

4 police officers received various degrees of injuries to their bodies.

The scene was visited by investigators today and investigation continues.
