Belizean authorities shot alleged merchandise traffickers

By BBN Staff: Novedades Quintana Roo, a Mexican media outlet is reporting that Belizean authorities shot alleged merchandise traffickers near Botes in Northern Belize.

The traffickers had reportedly just crossed the river when they were shot at.

The men are believed to be Belizeans. They were treated by Red Cross personnel in the community of San Francisco Botes, in Othón P. Blanco.

The men were later taken to the Chetumal General Hospital.

Police in Belize are yet to issue a report on this incident.
