Grenada pays tribute to vanquished rivals Belize

By Aaron Humes: The visiting Spice Boyz were magnanimous in victory after Sunday’s match at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium which they won 2-1.

After falling behind 24 minutes in, Grenada clamped down and took the fight to the hosts, being rewarded with a penalty for Arthur Patterson on 59 minutes and the game winner by Jamal Ray Charles half a minute from time.

Charles told us they were expecting Belize’s intensity and made their adjustments at halftime.

Coach Shalrie Joseph said Grenada came to win and it was a matter of putting away their chances in the second half.

Grenada now turn their attention to French Guiana in October. Belize goes to St. George’s in November.
