Guatemala Independence Torch run through Belize

By Richard Harrison: Today a bunch of Guatemalans ran through Belize carrying their Independence Torch en route to Guatemala City for their Independence Day celebrations on 15 September.

They were escorted by a pickup with a yellow Belize license plate (some Belize statutory body supporting)…by a pickup with Belize diplomatic license plates…a pickup with Guatemalan license plate…and a Maseca promo van with loud speakers and Guatemalan license plates.

All the officials from National Security, Foreign Affairs and the Belize Police knew about this. One commented that this is something that has been done every year for a long time. Another said “no man, we are peaceful”.

Peaceful does not mean foolish…

Belizeans will allow people to shove nonsense in their face…what a disgrace that we accept such humiliation out of ignorance, naivity, negligence, stupidity or downright self hate facilitating traitors deep in our midst…with our dodo-bird leadership asleep at the wheel…or are they the permit-giving agents?

The New Belize will never tolerate such insulting provocation from anyone….our international relations must be based on respect and trust…not on slimey ulterior motives by treacherous moles to compromise Belize’s honor and integrity.

We demand that this practice, which is insulting to Belizeans, be terminated forthwith…and that any Belize statutory body, diplomat, government official or citizen who have been cooperating with such idiocy be exposed and severely reprimanded…and warned that they will be charged with sedition if this is repeated next year…either that or Belizeans will be forced to take the law into their own hands.
