By BBN Staff: The National Institute of Culture and History (NICH) is inviting teachers, students, and the general public to its sixth annual National September Lecture.
The lecture is entitled “The History and Evolution of the Belize Flag,” and will be held at the Bliss Center for Performing Arts in Belize City on Tuesday, September 17, at 8:00 p.m. and will also be broadcast on The Government of Belize Press Office Facebook Channel and Love FM.
The lecture is being done through the Institute for Social and Cultural Research (ISCR), and will be facilitated by its director Nigel Encalada.
“The purpose of the lecture is to feature presentations on topics of national importance as we celebrate and safeguard Belize’s national identity,” NICH said.
“We believe that this year’s topic is a timely intervention as we embark on the public consultation process for the standardization of the Belize flag,” it added.
The lecture will examine the earliest graphical and textual representations of the Coat of Arms and the Belize Flag.
