By BBN Staff: After much public outcry about Saturday, September 21 not being declared a public and bank holiday, the Government of Belize has issued an official notice declaring it a national holiday.
The official government calendar marks Monday, September 23, 2019 as the public and bank holiday in lieu of Independence Day.
The notice published by the Government states that Monday remains a public and bank holiday.
On Saturday, September 21, 2019, Belizeans will celebrate the 38th Anniversary of Independence from Great Britain.
