By Aaron Humes: Terrencio Mejia Cruz, 36, and 53-year-old Jacobvani Mejia Garcia, both of La Ceiba, Atlantida, Honduras, were remanded after appearing in court in connection with the drug plane that landed last week near the Coastal Road.
Appearing before Senior Magistrate, Tricia Pitts Anderson, with a translator, they were both charged with conspiracy to abet the importation of controlled drugs, more than 2,900 pounds of cocaine into Belize.
The offense is indictable and no plea was taken. Bail was denied and they join the four others accused of involvement in the Central Prison.
Their case returns to court on November 12 before Chief Magistrate Sharon Frazer.
