Atlantic Bank introduces Chip and Contactless debit and credit cards

Atlantic Bank has recently launched chip and contactless Visa debit and credit cards. These cards feature an embedded chip that allows you to shop easier, quicker and with peace of mind.

According to the Bank, this new chip technology was introduced as a way to increase security and reduce the risk of fraud. The chip generates a unique security code each time you use your card; this ensures your transactions are secure and your information is protected.

There are two ways to complete a transaction with these new cards. Chip transactions require you to insert your card into the POS terminal face up, chip first and follow the prompts given by the machine. To perform a contactless transaction, all you need to do is simply tap your card at the POS terminal, wait for the beep that confirms your payment and you’re ready to go!

Here are a few things the Bank wants you to know about chip and contactless cards:

• Atlantic Bank will replace all cards within the next few months. With the replaced cards you will receive a new PIN and debit/credit card number. Please ensure to update your card information on all your subscriptions, i.e Netflix, Amazon, etc. to avoid disruption in service.
• You can perform a contactless transactions anywhere you see the contactless indicator.
• You will be required to sign all receipts while performing a chip transaction. Depending on the bank’s POS, you may be required to sign the receipt when performing a contactless transaction.
• The contactless feature is available for your convenience, however, you can opt to always perform a chip transaction.
