Tyrone Thomas charged and remanded for keeping ammunition without a gun license

By Aaron Humes: A home search by police on Central American Boulevard at the home of a Belize City man has led police to the discovery of 4 live rounds of 9 mm ammunition.

This morning, 37-year-old father, Tyrone Thomas, a resident of Central American Boulevard was arraigned before Magistrate Khadeen Palmer.

Thomas was read a single charge of kept ammunition without being granted a gun license by the COMPOL. Allegations are that on Monday, September 16, 2019, officers conducted a search at his home where they found 4 live rounds of .9 mm ammunitions inside a pants pocket belonging to Thomas.

Due to the nature of the offense, Thomas was denied bail and remanded into custody at the Belize Central Prison until November 18, 2019.

Before leaving the court room, Magistrate Palmer informed him that he could seek legal advice through the assistance of an attorney so he could apply for bail as early as this Friday, September 20, 2019.
