Posted: Thursday, September 19, 2019. 9:08 am CST.

By BBN Staff: Today, the Minister of National Security commended the Belize Police Department for making an arrest in the murder investigation of 19-year-old Belmopan resident Adamir Choc.

Saldiver, on his Minister of National Security Facebook page, commended Commissioner of Police Chester Williams along with the detectives of the Belmopan Police formation, whose quick and diligent work led to the arrest and charge of Nelson Espinoza.

“We now look forward to the successful prosecution and conviction of this heartless criminal,” Saldivar said. “Justice for Adamir through the court system is now anxiously anticipated.”

ComPol Williams announced Espinosa’s arrest this morning, following an aggressive investigation with immense public outcry for justice. Choc was formally reported missing on September 9, having been last seen alive on September 7. She was found dead on September 14, however her advanced state of decomposition made her cause of death inconclusive.
