Showers expected on Independence Day

By BBN Staff: The National Meteorological Service of Belize expects some showers today as a relatively moist northeasterly airflow prevails over the country.

The 24-hour forecast calls for sunny skies with a few cloudy spells today and partly cloudy skies tonight. A few showers or thunderstorms will occur mostly along the coast this morning and tonight and over inland areas this afternoon.

Today’s temperature will be 89 degrees Fahrenheit on the coast, 96 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 84 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills.

Tonight’s temperature lows will range from 78 degrees Fahrenheit on the coast, 73 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 68 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills.

Winds will be blowing Northeast between 5-10 knots and the sea state will be slight.

There will be a high tide at 3:31 p.m. and a low tide at 7:38 p.m. The sun will set at 5:49 p.m. and the moon will rise today at 11:31 p.m.
