CARICOM Secretary General congratulate Belize on 38th Independence anniversary

By BBN Staff: Secretary-General of CARICOM, Ambassador Irwin LaRocque extended congratulations on behalf of CARICOM to Belize on the 38^th anniversary of Independence.

“Belize’s theme “From Maya Grandeur to Modern Glory, Together Let’s Shape the Belizean Story!” underscores the determination of Belizeans to move forward in unity while keeping alive their rich heritage. The people of Belize through hard work and dedication to their country have ensured significant progress in many areas while building a nation of which they are justifiably proud,” LaRocque stated.

In addition, La Rocque said that Belize has played a critical role in  CARICOM construct most notably in leading the portfolio for Justice and Governance in the CARICOM quasi-cabinet.

“In congratulating Belize on this auspicious occasion, I reaffirm my own commitment and that of the staff of the CARICOM Secretariat to working alongside the government and people of your country in the realisation of your aspirations,” the statement ended.
