Fatal road traffic accident claims life in Southern Belize

By BBN Staff: A road traffic accident in Southern Belize on Independence Day claimed the life of one man.

He has been identified as Jeremias Xipot.

According to police, sometime before 1 a.m. they were called to mile 5 of the Southern Highway.

There, they saw a white truck extensively damaged.

Beside it they saw the body of Xipot.

Investigations revealed that Xipot and Victor Luna were traveling from Silk Grass to Dangriga when Xipot lost control and collided into a lamp post.

He died on the spot.

Luna suffered minor injuries.
