By BBN Staff: Sometime around 10 a.m. on Sunday, a fire broke out in the Maya Mopan area of Belmopan.
Irene Reid told officers that she was in the lower flat of her two-story concrete home when a neighbor alerted her that there was a fire on the second floor.
With the assistance of firefighters, the fire was brought under control.
Fortunately only the contents of the second floor were destroyed as the building remained intact.
Police say the cause of the fire is not yet known.
