By BBN Staff: Belize City Mayor Bernard Wagner is currently in New York City along with other world leaders.
He is there in his capacity as board member of the Commonwealth Local Government Forum (CLGF).
He participated in the 2nd High-Level Local and Regional Government Forum on the 2030 Agenda: United Nations SDG Summit 2019.
In his presentation to the gathering, Mayor Wagner emphasized on leadership in climate action.
He shared his council’s plan for sustainable transport by building a new e-transit network for Belize City.
He also shared another plan for the voluntary resettlement of Belizeans residing in the Krooman Lagoon area.
The event was hosted by Cameroon at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City.
