By BBN Staff: The Office of the Director of Health Services is closely monitoring dengue cases in Belize.
Current data up to week 38 indicates that a total of 3,675 cases have been diagnosed this year.
Of these, 1,578 are suspected clinical cases and 2,097 have been confirmed by laboratory.
There are now 3 dengue related deaths and those 3 were females.
“In terms of cases per week, this past week was the lowest number of the last 5 weeks and our system remains vigilant with on hands training still ongoing across the 4 health regions,” a statement from their office informed.
The public is advised to be on the alert for Dengue and Dengue Hemorraghic Fever.
The public encouraged to eliminate mosquito breeding sites which exist in and around homes.
