Attorney General: NBZ Live seeks to create ‘mischief’

Posted: Thursday, September 26, 2019. 2:25 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: The Office of the Attorney General issued a statement minutes ago informing that it is aware of postings made by NBZLive on September 25,2019.

The statement refers to the post made by NBZ Live as ‘broadly and loosely exhibiting documents and other evidence alleging corruption at the Vital Statistics Unit, all in an effort to create mischief, attract attention, and foster an anti-solutionist approach.’

“The Office of the Attorney General calls on the public to reject these mischievous acts and put a stop to the use of improper forums to issue grievances and fester public disunity. The Office of the Attorney General reiterates that the Vital Statics Unit offers crucial services for the entire Belizean public and calls on Belizeans to not be easily swayed by political propaganda and acts of mischief,” the statement expressed.

In addition, the public is urged to directly report to the relevant authorities any allegation and evidence of corruption or corrupt-related activities.

“Our doors remain open to dialoguing and receiving, from any member of the Belizean public, information on our services and input on improvement,” the statement ends.
