By Aaron Humes: Resident of San Pedro Town, Ambergris Caye, 23-year-old Cinthia Marisol Mariano Reyes, is heading to her original home of Honduras, but not voluntarily.
She has evaded authorities for four years after managing to stay on her original one month visitor’s permit, granted in September 2015.
Reyes pleaded guilty to failure to comply with the conditions of a visitor’s permit before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford. She was fined the usual $1,000 to be paid immediately, in default, six months’ imprisonment which she is now serving after being unable to come up with the money.
Prosecutors from the Immigration Department also put in an order to leave which was granted by the court. It means that once the fine is paid or the time in prison served, Reyes must leave immediately.
