By Aaron Humes: Businessman Chris Rosado was not in fact driving under the influence of alcohol while in possession of a firearm, police conceded as they dropped all charges on Friday.
In June, Rosado was found driving a green Isuzu Dmax in Belize City, apparently under the influence of too much alcohol and had his license 9 mm Glock pistol in his possession.
Sample was taken from Rosado but the amount of his blood concentration could not be proven until the test result came back.
Those results now show his blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was below the prescribed limit, meaning he was not intoxicated.
The court prosecutor formally announced withdrawal of charges before Magistrate Emmerson Banner, based on a certificate in evidence which confirms that the BAC was below the prescribed limit and therefore breaking the police’s case.
