Last of accused in drug plane landing charged

By Aaron Humes: The two Honduran nationals injured allegedly by police during the September 9, 2019 landing of a drug plane were arraigned Friday morning in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court.

31-year-old Allan Yovani Mejia Chirinos, a businessman of San Pedro Sula, Cortes, Honduras along with 50-year-old Nolan Jose Carrasco Lopez, another Honduran businessman of San Pedro Sula, Cortes, Honduras, limped to court from hospital accompanied by heavy police guard to be charged with one single count of possession of control drugs with the intent to supply to another person or persons for the purpose of drug trafficking.

No plea was taken and the men were remanded along with the six persons charged to date: two Hondurans, a Mexican and an Ecuadorian, the other nationalities are not known. All return to court on November 12.
