New District Association of Village Councils for Belize district

By BBN Staff: On September 29, 2019, Biscayne Village Chairman Alphius Gillett emerged as the new President of the District Association of Village Councils (DAVCO) for the Belize District.

The newly elected executive is as follows:

Vice President-Martin Jimenez

Secretary-Marilyn Stephenson

 Treasurer- Renee Joseph

 Other members are Orlando Dawson (NAVCO Representative), Sharlene Sankey, Dorita Dawson, Efrain Leal, Dorla Bovell, Melanie Castro, Arlene Requena, and Silvana Barrow.

Minister of Transport and National Emergency Management, Edmond Castro was present and congratulated Gillett and the rest of the newly elected DAVCO board for Belize District.

Castro expressed his full support, pledging to work closely with them to bring more development to those villages.

DAVCO elections for the Belize District were conducted in Ladyville.
