Showers expected for the next couple of days

By BBN Staff: The National Meteorological Service of Belize says that more showers are expected as a broad area of low pressure will dominate our weather over the next couple of days.

The 24-hour forecast calls for sunny skies with a few cloudy spells today and mostly cloudy tonight. Showers or thunderstorms will be isolated, except for a few more occurring offshore this morning and then over inland areas late morning into this afternoon. Tonight, a few showers and thunderstorms are expected over most areas.

Today’s high temperatures will be 88 degrees Fahrenheit on the coast, 92 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 84 degrees Fahrenheit in the hills. Tonight’s temperature lows will range from 76 degrees Fahrenheit on the coast, 73 degrees Fahrenheit inland, and 68 degrees Fahrenheit in
the hills.

Winds will be blowing North-Northwest between 5-10 knots, becoming variable at between 00-10 knots, and the sea state will be slight- light chop.

There will be a high tide at 12:55 p.m. and a low tide at 6:20 p.m. The sun will set at 5:40 p.m. and the moon will rise today at 9:35 a.m.
