Guatemalan man chopped to the neck over weekend

By BBN Staff: A man was chopped in southern Belize over the weekend.

He is Guatemalan national, Alejandro Xol, 42.

According to police, he was chopped to the neck just before 10 o’clock on Sunday night in Trio village.

He was subsequently transported to the Southern Regional Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Police are yet to locate the perpetrator or the weapon used to commit this crime. However, investigators are currently deployed to the area to ascertain how and why the incident occurred.
