Posted: Monday, October 7, 2019. 6:34 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: The Ministry of Health (MOH) is partnering with entities such as the Ministry of Education (MOE) in an ongoing investigation at the Belmopan Baptist High School, following several incidents of students fainting while on campus.

The MOH confirmed to Breaking Belize News (BBN) today that it has been involved in the process since September when the first incident of fainting occurred. The ministry deployed a team of public health investigators to conduct an inspection of the campus, in tandem with other ongoing activities to identify and address the problem. While the full details of the public health team has not been made available, BBN understands that dehydration may have played a role in several of the incidents.

Other sources have confirmed to BBN that the school’s parish had the campus prayed over and blessed over the weekend, in an attempt to address the problem from every possible angle. Reports reached our newsroom that in September the first student fainted. Following th einitial incident, several incidents started occurring daily. Numerous students, some on more than one occasion would pass out during the course of the day.

BBN will be following up with authorities on the issue.
