Belize Youth Movement demands loan write off for all students

Posted: Tuesday, October 8, 2019. 3:53 pm CST.

By BBN Staff: The Belize Youth Movement (BYM) issued a statement today demanding the Government of Belize to afford all Belizean students, the privilege given to Joshua Perdomo, son of cabinet minister’s loan write off.

The BYM is making a call to all the Belizean Youth to rise up and demand that their student loans be also written off.

The BYM says that it is outraged at the actions taken by Prime Minister Dean Barrow and members of cabinet as they all voted to write off a $40,000.00 loan to Joshua Perdomo.

“As a youth centered organization, it is utterly despicable that all members of the government voted to forgive the loan but none of them have ever presented a single solution that would benefit all students. Let us all come together and demand better from those we elect,” the group expressed.

The youth group calls on all youths to demand better from the Government.
