By BBN Staff: The Government of Belize and the Government of the United Arab Emirates signed an agreement on economic cooperation today October, 9 2019 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
The agreement establishes a framework for expanding the economic relationship between the two countries in a number of key areas, including:
The agreement includes the establishment of a Joint Economic Commission that will include public and private sector representatives and will be co-chaired by the Minister of Economic Development of Belize and the Minister of the Economy of the United Arab Emirates.
The Economic Cooperation Agreement was signed on behalf of the Government of Belize by Minister of Economic Development, Petroleum, Investment, Trade and Commerce Erwin Contreras and on behalf of the Government of the United Arab Emirates by Sultan bin Saeed al Mansouri, Minister of the Economy.
Contreras was accompanied by Rene Montero, Minister of Works, and Oliver del Cid, Ambassador of Belize to Mexico.
