The day is set aside to commemorate the uprising of Wuchang.
The Wuchang Uprising of 1911 overthrew the Chinese emperor and established a republican form of government.
The day is celebrated with official ceremonies, fire-works, and cultural presentations throughout the country.
Ambassador Remus Li Kuo-Chen and the Taiwan Embassy in Belize celebrated Taiwan’s National day in Belize on October 4, 2019.
Belize’s Deputy Prime Minister Patrick Faber, NEMO Minister, Edmond Castro, and Tourism Minister, Manuel Heredia are in Taiwan in commemoration of the National Day Celebrations.
Last year, Taiwan’s president Tsai Ing Wen visited Belize to pledge more assistance to Belize.
The Taiwanese President said she was grateful for the support Belize has shown her country throughout the years.
Belize and Taiwan established diplomatic ties in 1989 and have enjoyed strong bilateral relations ever since.
