By BBN Staff: A man is detained by police after he almost took the life of his former stepson.

That man has since been identified as Aroldo Coc, 36.

On Friday night he visited the Stann Creek home of his ex common-law wife, Rosaria Rash. There, an argument ensued between him and Rash’s son, Antonio Makin Jr.

As a result, Coc reportedly took a piece of firewood and hit Makin multiple times on the left side of his head causing two large cut wounds.

Makin was transported to the Independence Polyclinic, then the Southern Regional Hospital and finally the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Coc has since been detained. We note that he violated a restraining order that was lodged against him by Rash.
