One dead, one detained in road traffic accident

By BBN Staff: A man is dead following a road traffic accident in Santa Elena.

He has since been identified as Billy Lerma, 26.

According to police, sometime after 12 o’clock on Saturday morning he was driving his motorcycle on Carillo Puerto Avenue.

That was when a red truck driven by Paul Wagner, 50, collided into him.

Wagner had reportedly comedown the hill of Santa Cruz Road, in a direction towards the George Price Highway.

However, upon reaching the junction he crossed the highway into Lerma.

Lerma suffered severe injuries to his body and died while receiving medical attention at the San Ignacio Community Hospital.

Paul Wagner has since been detained pending charges
