By BBN Staff: UNICEF Representative Dr. Susan Kasedde and Ministry of Health’s Dr. Julio Sabido are in Trinidad and Tobago representing Belize at the 1st ever Caribbean Congress on Youth and Adolescent health.

The regional congress is being attended by representatives from Caribbean countries in an effort to mobilize greater investment to connect, collaborate and align efforts in the Caribbean for the promotion and protection of the health and well-being of all adolescents and young people.

The congress is a call to action for advocates, health and social workers, policy-makers, academia, clinicians and young people towards improving adolescent health and well-being for the future development of the region.

“Belize is presenting our experiences in developing an adolescent health and mental health strategy, a formative assessment in menstrual hygiene management and adolescent participation in monitoring air quality in Belize,” a statement from UNICEF noted.

The congress takes place from October 15 -17, 2019.
