By BBN Staff: Today, the Belize Tourism Board (BTB) gathered with tourism industry stakeholders from all over the country for its annual industry conference, held at the Best Western Belize Biltmore Plaza.
The conference, which gathered hoteliers, tour operators, site managers, and supporting bodies such as the Ministry of Tourism, was held under the theme “Destination Marketing and the impact on the Belize Market.” The conference was split into two sections with the morning session being used to discuss emerging trends and the impact of cultural tourism and the afternoon session looking at challenges facing the industry and how to work towards combating those challenges.
Misty Michael, Director of Marketing and Industry Relations for the BTB, said that hosting the conference forms a part of the BTB’s mandate to engage and collaborate with our stakeholders within the industry to better prepare them to sell their tourism product and sell Belize as a whole.
“When we have these conferences the goal is to provide stakeholders with information on various trends and issues that are taking place within and around this industry and prepare them to handle some of the challenges and be prepared for some of these trends that are coming on stream,” Michael said.
